Homework for class 10/2

I wanted to post the homework for all students who had to leave early or were unable to come to class on Thursday.
What I want to see on Tuesday is different for every student at this point.

What I want to see is this:

- Logo: If you have made a decision on your logo and know where you are going refine it and lets move forward. But to be honest, I would say 80% of you still have a lot of work to do. I want to see various logo explorations where you think about tag line, type faces, colors and variations to the icon. Bring in at least 10-12 options where you have thought about all these things in various ways.

- Business Cards: (1 person and general card) Should include: persons name, title, phone, email and url. Think about size and shape of card. Could it have dual use? Based on several of the cards I saw last week keep that type size smaller (7-8.5 pt size?) and play with subtle design details on the card.

- Food Truck: Some people may be getting really close to completing this. Others and a lot of you still need to explore on 2-3 different ideas.

- Menu: Everyone would have 1 take way menu. What will that look like and how will it relate to all the above materials?

- Additional Application: This can be anything. BUT, just bring in a t-shirt design or something will not count. Think conceptual and how it will enhance your brand. I would love to see how you think your food should be packaged? Or a website? Or an ordering app?..... You of course could do additional swag (tees, buttons, stickers) but these do not count for this application.
Have a mock up of some sort.

-Lastly, I would just start on your process book. Have a few pages...anything! Start thinking about it!

Final deliverables Project 01

Hey gang,
So after talking with everyone in class thursday I do not want anyone to worried or have any confusion on what and how we will be turning int Project 01. We still have 3 weeks, you guys can do this!
Below is a check list of exactly what you will be turning in. I hope this helps as we move forward. Plenty of time.

Final Poster Template for 16 symbols

Here is a link to download a template for your final poster for all 16 symbols.

Each symbol should be placed in the order we did them starting in the upper left corner.
Overall poster is 28x30. Included 16 6 inch squares flush to one another. 2 inches on each side and 4 inches on the bottom. You animal name and your name on bottom set in Futura.

Project One: Part Two

THE SKINNY
You have now created 16 different marks in various conceptual and physical form. Now expand upon one of those representations to create a brand.
More specifically, a food truck brand.


SAY WHAT!?
Food trucks are a huge trend in the casual food market. They can set up anywhere and have very low overhead. How can you make your food truck stand out from the other food trucks and sometimes trucks merely 5 feet away from each other?
Using the animal and techniques that you have been working with how will this influence the name of your company? The type of food you will be offering and the visuals you will use to create the brand. 


DELIVERABLES
- Logo: One final logo on a 6x6 flush trimmed on bristol board 
(uses icon of animal in some way along with name of company)
- Designed Food Truck: Each side (elevation drawing provided)
- Identity: 2 peoples Business cards (1 could be company card)
- 2 Applications: 1 application must be a menu of some sorts. Sizes, ideas open.
Second application can be anything that makes sense with your company: a way to promote them as in ad campaign or brochure, a way to help their business as in phone app, or even packaging for food and to-go items. ANYTHING.
